MACFARLANE DIAMONDS NETBALL
The MacFarlane Diamonds Netball program has been running at the school for a number of years now, started by classroom teachers as an attendance incentive, it has now grown into a successful staff run program encouraging students not only to improve their school attendance, but also practice positive behaviour and learn new skills for life. The program is open to all Middle and Upper Primary students, through fundraising there is no additional cost to families and training is run during school lunchtimes. Students who commit to training also get the opportunity to engage with cooking skills sessions, health lessons and sport skills development throughout the netball season. This year we have almost 30 students involved and have entered 2 teams into the Katherine Netball Association Competition: The Red Crystals and Blue Gems. It is great to see so many talented MacFarlane students shine on the netball courts!
KATHERINE BEAT FESTIVAL
MacFarlane have a proud history of performance in the Katherine Beat Festival – since 2018 we have had students shine on stage for both dance and choir, representing the school with pride and showcasing our student talent.
In 2022 the MacFarlane dance group featured on VAMPtv and won a special award at the end of the year for their efforts in the 2022 Katherine Beat ‘Time’. Students will be performing in this years Beat Festival ‘Courage’ on June 15th
